BEEF STIR FRY NOODLES

Introduction

Craving a satisfying, savory meal that’s bursting with flavor and comes together quickly? Beef Stir Fry Noodles are the perfect solution! With tender beef, chewy noodles, and a medley of crisp vegetables, this dish is a go-to for busy weeknights or when you want to impress your taste buds with minimal effort. The sauce—packed with umami-rich soy sauce, oyster sauce, and a hint of spice—ties everything together in a symphony of flavors that will have you reaching for seconds.

Key Ingredients

To achieve the best results, gather these essential ingredients:

  1. Thinly Sliced Beef: Use sirloin, flank steak, or ribeye for tender, juicy results.
  2. Chow Mein Noodles: These provide the perfect texture, but other Asian noodles work well too.
  3. Vegetables: Onion, garlic, ginger, bean sprouts, and red bell pepper bring a balance of sweetness and crunch.
  4. Sauce Ingredients: A savory blend of soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and Korean red chili paste, sweetened slightly with sugar.
  5. Toppings: Green onions and sesame seeds for a finishing touch of freshness and nuttiness.

Substitutions

  • Beef Alternatives: Swap the beef for chicken, shrimp, tofu, or even mushrooms for a vegetarian option.
  • Noodles: Can’t find chow mein noodles? Use udon, rice noodles, or spaghetti as substitutes.
  • Vegetables: Feel free to add broccoli, snap peas, or carrots for extra color and nutrition.
  • Sauce Variations: Replace oyster sauce with hoisin sauce for a sweeter flavor or use tamari for a gluten-free option.

Additional Notes

  • Prep Ahead: To make cooking seamless, have all your ingredients prepped and ready before heating the wok or pan. Stir-frying is a fast process!
  • High Heat is Key: Use a wok or a large skillet on high heat to ensure everything cooks quickly without becoming soggy.
  • Marinate the Beef: For extra tenderness, marinate the beef with baking soda massaging to achieve maximum tenderness.
  • Timing Matters: Cook each ingredient in batches to maintain their textures—overcrowding the pan can lead to steaming instead of stir-frying.

Conclusion

Beef Stir Fry Noodles are an effortless yet impressive dish that you can whip up in under 30 minutes. Packed with bold flavors, vibrant vegetables, and tender beef, it’s a crowd-pleaser that will quickly become a household favorite.

Description

With tender beef, chewy noodles, and a medley of crisp vegetables, this Beef Stir Fry Noodles dish is a go-to for busy weeknights or when you want to impress your taste buds with minimal effort.

Ingredients
    For the Stir Fry
  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 16 oz chow mein noodles
  • 1 small onion (sliced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 inch ginger (grated)
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 1 red bell pepper (thinly sliced)
  • For the sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce
  • 3 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Korean red chili paste (gochujang)
  • 4 tsp sugar
  • Toppings
  • 2 green onions (chopped)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions
  1. Tenderize the Beef

In a small bowl, sprinkle the baking soda over the sliced beef. Massage it into the beef for about 30 seconds to coat evenly. Let it sit for 5 minutes.

  2. Prepare the Noodles

Boil noodles according to package instructions, for around 12-13 minutes, then drain and set aside.

  3. Stir Fry the Beef

Heat a tablespoon of oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tenderized beef slices, season lightly with salt and pepper, and cook until browned (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from the pan and set aside.

Make sure to cook the beef in high heat to avoid steaming.
  4. Cook the Vegetables

In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed, then add garlic, ginger, and onions. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add red pepper and bean sprouts, cooking until they’re just tender but still crisp (about 2-3 minutes).

  5. Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked noodles and beef back into the pan. Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, chili paste (if using), and sugar. Toss everything together for another 1-2 minutes until evenly coated and heated through.

  6. Serve

Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
